Android 2.0 Platform Features

Android 2.0 is the most recent version of Android technology released on October 26, 2009. It is comprised of variety of features including optimize hardware speed, support for more screen sizes and resolutions, revamped user interface, new browser user interface and HTML 5 support, new contact lists, better white/black ratio for backgrounds, improved Google Maps 3.1.2, Microsoft Exchange support, built in flash support for camera, digital zoom, improved virtual keyboard and Bluetooth 2.1. In addition to those mentioned features, there is still a number of new and exciting features both beneficial for users and developers. Among those exciting user features are contacts and accounts where in a user can have instant access to a contact’s information and communication modes; email functionality which combines inbox messages from multiple email accounts; messaging functionality which supports Microsoft Exchange, ability to search all saved SMS and MMS messages and automatically deletes oldest message in a conversation when the defined limit is reached. Built in flash support and digital zoom are one of its camera features. Android also improved its keyboard layout making it easier to hit the correct characters. Web browsing made easy which enables users to directly click the address bar for instant searches and navigation. There is even a phone number directory app you can use to find cell phone numbers.
